During my years at UGA, I studied oboe with Dr. Dwight Manning. Major works in my repertoire include Mahler's Symphony No. 9, Handel's Messiah, Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet, the opera La Boheme, and the famous English Horn solo in Concierto de Aranjuez by Rodrigo. Under the instruction of both Betty White and Grace Caudle, I engaged in formal piano study for over fifteen years. During this time, I participated in many GMEA recitals and masterclasses, GMTA winner's recitals, Piano festivals, and other competitions.
I enjoy visual art just as much as music, so for fun I do oil paintings and draw cartoons for the Georgia Mensa newsletter.
Math is my favorite academic subject (I am certified to teach middle school math), closely followed by science.
I have a miniature dachshund named Shelby who will only play the piano for cheese.
My husband, Jason, is an accomplished pianist even without cheese. He plays piano at Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church and teaches chorus at Osborne Middle School.
Music has benefitted me both intellectually and socially, so I wish to share this experience with others. | My Home Studio Games/Activities I've Created   | | ||||
