During my years at UGA, I studied oboe with Dr. Dwight Manning. Major works in my repertoire include Mahler's Symphony No. 9, Handel's Messiah, Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet, the opera La Boheme, and the well-known English Horn solo in Concierto de Aranjuez by Rodrigo. Under the instruction of both Betty White and Grace Caudle, I engaged in formal piano study for over fifteen years. During this time, I participated in numerous GMEA recitals and masterclasses, GMTA winner's recitals, Piano festivals, and other competitions.
I enjoy visual art just as much as music, so I oil-paint and draw cartoons for the GA Mensa newsletter. Math is my favorite academic subject, closely followed by science. My husband, Jason, is an accomplished pianist and plays at Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church. He teaches math at North Oconee High School. Our son, Seth, was born on October 1, 2009, and we are having so much fun with him!
